Flüchtling

Flüchtling is a German word that is used to refer to a person who has fled their home country due to war, persecution or other reasons that make it unsafe for them to stay. The English equivalent of Flüchtling is ‘refugee’.

Definitions:

Flüchtling has two primary definitions that are used in German language:

  1. A person who has left their homeland due to political or social reasons, such as war, discrimination, persecution, or violence.
  2. A person who has been displaced from their home due to natural disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, or earthquakes.

Opposites:
